New York had the most people there with nine men at the meeting, Pennsylvania had eight, Virginia seven, New Jersey Maryland and South Carolina all had five, Massachusetts had four, Delaware and North Carolina both had three people there and New Hampshire and Rhode Island both had two delegates. At this meeting, they decide that they were NOT going to buy anything from England, to boycott the new intolerable acts. They also made the big decision to start stocking the arsenals, and that they wanted to start preparing and training men, to start making malitias. in the long run, there main goal is to hope that Britian will lose money. of course the olive branch petition is hopefully going to work with king george, and he will retract the intolerable acts. If he does not, the colonists ARE prepared for war.

    Battle of Lexington and Concord
    Michelle Boysel (and Jayveon Scott)
    Dear Editior:Editor:
We have a right to defend ourselves, don't we? The British didn't think so. Well, in the Battle of Lexington and Concord, on April 18th 1775, we had one of our first chances to defend ourselves. The Regulars (this is what the colonist called British soldiers) came to Lexington to kill the leaders of the Sons of Liberty, John Handcock and Samual Adams. The King thought that if he could arrest the leaders of the Patriots then they might be able to stop the rebellion. So, Paul Revere and William Dawes were sent to give the message to the Patriot leaders before the Regulars could get to them. Paul Revere got to to Lexington only a little before William Dawes, and warned the leaders that the British soldiers were coming. The Regulars thought everything was going the way they planned, but little did they know 75 minute men were waiting for them ready to fight. The colonist were greatly out numbered, but managed to kill many of the British soldiers. Then the British soldiers went to Concord to destoy all of the weapons the colonist had made. However, when they got there most of the weapons were moved to other hiding spots in different colonies. They were only able to destroy part of the supplies. Overall the Battle of Lexington and Concord was a major success.
I think the colonies have a right to defend themselves. Britian does not have a right to capture the people who are trying to turn this country around and destroy they weapons that the colonist use to defend themselves. Thankfully the colonist are able to show Britian that they can fight back. Even though they didn't win the Battle of Lexington and Concord, it was still a major success. "What a glorious morning for America," Samual Adams.
